Elon Musk’s Tesla-SpaceX joint venture, dubbed Terafab, has asked key equipment makers—Applied Materials, Tokyo Electron and Lam Research—for price quotes and delivery timelines on photomasks, etchers, testers and other tools. The team wants to fast-track procurement “at light speed” as it aims to enter advanced chip production.
