Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 24, 2025
Quit Emailing Yourself (“QEY”, “we”, “us”) provides tools that let you save and organize
links you care about. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
- Account data: Email address and username you provide when registering or signing in with Google.
- Saved content: Links, titles, tags, reminders, and optional notes that you add to QEY.
- Extension settings: The Chrome extension stores the base URL of your QEY deployment and a session token in your browser’s storage so you stay signed in.
- Operational logs: Server logs capture standard metadata (IP address, browser headers, timestamps) purely for troubleshooting, security monitoring, and abuse prevention. We do not tie these logs to your saved content or share them with third parties.
How We Use Information
- Authenticate you and maintain your session.
- Process, organize, and display the links you save.
- Generate optional AI-powered summaries and reminder emails that you request.
- Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and protect QEY from abuse.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share data only with service providers required to run QEY (for example, email delivery and OpenAI for summaries). These providers receive the minimum data necessary to provide their services.
Your Choices
- Access & export: You can view and copy your saved links at any time.
- Deletion: Delete individual links or close your account from the QEY dashboard; this removes your saved content from our systems.
- AI summaries: Disable or avoid summaries by not triggering reminder automation for specific links.
Chrome Extension
The QEY Chrome extension acts only when you interact with it. It reads the active tab’s URL and title solely to save the page you choose. The extension communicates with your QEY server and does not send data to any other domains.
Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including HTTPS for all requests and encrypted storage of credentials. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we continually monitor and improve our safeguards.
Children
QEY is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the new policy here and update the “Last updated” date above.
