The author experienced image corruption issues with the Apple Photos app when importing photos from their OM System OM-1 camera, resulting in a significant loss of images. After extensive troubleshooting and replacing hardware, it was concluded that the corruption was likely a software issue within the Photos app. Consequently, the author has shifted to using Darktable for photo management to avoid further problems.
