The Aisuru botnet, primarily leveraging compromised Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices from U.S. ISPs, has set new records for distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, recently reaching nearly 30 terabits per second. The botnet's rapid growth and heavy reliance on U.S. networks complicate mitigation efforts, especially as attacks disrupt online gaming communities and challenge the operational capabilities of ISPs. Experts warn that the scale of these attacks highlights a growing need for effective outbound DDoS protection.
