A flaw in Microsoft OneDrive's file picker has been discovered, which could potentially allow attackers to exploit the feature for unauthorized access to files. This vulnerability highlights the need for improved security measures within cloud storage services to protect user data from malicious activities.

Microsoft has launched Windows Backup for Organizations, a new enterprise tool designed to simplify backups and facilitate the transition to Windows 11. Available following the September 2025 update, this feature allows IT administrators to back up Windows settings and Microsoft Store apps, ensuring a consistent user experience during device upgrades. Data is securely stored in the Exchange Online cloud with encryption and strict access controls in place.

Microsoft Word for Windows will soon default to autosaving new documents to the cloud, primarily OneDrive, as part of an update being tested by Microsoft 365 Insiders. Users will have the option to save files locally and can choose between traditional or cloud-based file creation. This feature will also be extended to Excel and PowerPoint later this year.
