A meta-analysis of 51 studies indicates that ChatGPT significantly enhances students' learning performance and moderately improves learning perception and higher-order thinking. The effectiveness of ChatGPT varies based on course type, learning model, and duration of use, suggesting a need for tailored educational frameworks to maximize its benefits. Future research is encouraged to further explore and optimize ChatGPT's role in education.
