A federal judge ruled that Apple violated a court injunction by restricting developers' ability to communicate alternative purchasing methods in its iOS App Store. Following this ruling, Apple updated its App Review Guidelines, allowing developers to include buttons and links for external purchases. As a result, the Amazon Kindle app can now enable users to buy books directly within the app for the first time.
