FamilySearch won’t load its United States site unless you’re running a current browser. If you’re on an older version of Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox or Chrome, key features—like record searches, family-tree tools and hints—simply won’t work. The page asks you to download or update to the latest release so forms render correctly and interactive elements respond without error.
Without that update, you can’t tap into their indexes of birth, marriage and death records or use the collaborative family-tree interface. In practice, that means no record transcription, no image viewing and no hint notifications until you switch to a supported browser version.
