Plaud launched its new AI notetaker, the Plaud NotePin S, just before CES 2026 in Las Vegas. This device builds on the company’s earlier model from 2024, which received positive reviews. The NotePin S features a physical button for starting and stopping recordings and allows users to highlight points during recording, similar to the Plaud Note Pro. It’s priced at $179 and includes accessories like a clip, lanyard, magnetic pin, and wristband, offering flexibility in how it can be worn. The device is also compatible with Apple’s Find My feature for easy tracking.
In terms of specifications, the NotePin S retains the 64GB storage and 20-hour battery life from its predecessor. It has two MEMS microphones, effective up to 9.8 feet, and includes 300 minutes of free transcription each month. While the NotePin S has a shorter recording range and lower battery life compared to the Note Pro, its compact size makes it more portable. Plaud targets busy individuals who need a convenient notetaking solution.
With the NotePin S, Plaud aims to expand its focus beyond in-person meetings. The new desktop app competes with other meeting notetakers like Granola, Fathom, and Fireflies. It can automatically detect active meetings and prompt users to capture transcripts. The Mac app captures system audio for note-taking, structuring the transcription into organized notes using AI. Building on last year's multimodal input features, users can also add images and typed notes to their audio transcriptions in this desktop app.
