LingGuang, an AI coding app developed by Ant Group, gained immense popularity shortly after its launch, crossing 2 million downloads in just six days. The app allows users to create applications using plain-language prompts, achieving its first million downloads faster than both ChatGPT and Sora. On its first Monday post-launch, LingGuang topped the free utilities category on Apple's App Store in mainland China and ranked sixth among all free apps. The app's flash program feature, which enables users to create interactive apps in about 30 seconds, faced heavy traffic that temporarily crashed the system. Users have already utilized this feature to build tools like activity generators for children and calculators for car expenses. He Zhengyu, Ant Group's chief technology officer, emphasized that LingGuang acts as a personal AI developer for users, capable of coding and creating visuals. Beyond vibe coding, LingGuang includes capabilities for generating 3D models, interactive charts, and animations. It also features an "AGI camera" that can analyze scenes in real time, assisting users with image or video editing. The app is available internationally across major app stores and the web. Ant Group, affiliated with Alibaba, is intensifying its focus on AI, having recently launched other AI tools and technologies, signaling a strong push in the competitive landscape of AI development.
