Google announced a new feature in Search Console on December 8, 2025, aimed at helping site owners track their performance across both websites and social media channels. This integration expands the Search Console Insights report to include valuable data from social platforms linked to a website, catering to the growing importance of social media in digital marketing.
Users will gain access to several key metrics. The total reach metric shows clicks and impressions from Google directing traffic to social channels. Content performance highlights the most popular social channel pages, as well as those experiencing significant changes in engagement. Additionally, site owners can view top search queries that lead users to their social profiles and see audience location data, reflecting where users are interacting with their content. The report also includes clicks from other sources like Image Search and Video Search.
Initially, this feature is available only to a limited number of websites and social channels that Google has automatically identified. Site owners will be prompted to link these social channels in the Search Console Insights report. Google is eager to receive user feedback, which can be submitted through buttons in the report or through LinkedIn and the Google Search Central Community.
