Anthropic has announced a massive $50 billion investment in American AI infrastructure, collaborating with Fluidstack to build custom data centers in Texas and New York, with more locations planned for the future. The initiative aims to enhance the efficiency of AI workloads, supporting ongoing research and development. The project is expected to generate around 800 permanent jobs and 2,400 construction jobs, with facilities expected to be operational by 2026. This investment aligns with the Trump administration's AI Action Plan, which seeks to maintain U.S. leadership in AI and improve domestic technology infrastructure. CEO Dario Amodei emphasized the importance of this infrastructure for advancing AI capabilities that can tackle complex scientific problems. Anthropic is experiencing rapid growth, with over 300,000 business customers and a sevenfold increase in large accounts—clients contributing more than $100,000 in annual revenue—over the past year. The company aims to keep pace with the rising demand for its AI model, Claude, while ensuring its research remains at the cutting edge. Fluidstack has been chosen for its agility and capability to rapidly deliver extensive power resources crucial for this expansion. Co-founder Gary Wu highlighted the partnership's significance in enabling frontier AI advancements. Anthropic's recent $30 billion Series G funding round, led by GIC and Coatue, has increased its valuation to $380 billion, further fueling its research and infrastructure growth. The company reported a run-rate revenue of $14 billion, with a growth rate exceeding tenfold over the past three years.
