This new feature allows anyone—from designers to marketers—to generate production-ready apps by simply entering natural language prompts. App Gen integrates seamlessly with Webflow’s existing design and content management systems, ensuring that brand elements like typography and color are automatically applied for consistency. Unlike earlier AI site builders, which only focused on layout, App Gen builds fully functional applications that can include dynamic features like pricing calculators and job boards. Everything is hosted on Webflow Cloud’s infrastructure, which is designed for enterprise-level reliability and security. This integration streamlines the workflow between design and engineering, making it easier for teams to manage projects within a single system. Future updates for App Gen are planned, including features for user authentication and databases, which will enable more complex applications. Webflow is also introducing the ability to generate custom code components through AI, enhancing flexibility for site customization. Currently in beta, App Gen is available across all site plans, marking a significant step in Webflow's mission to empower nontechnical users in web development.
