Google has launched Workspace Studio, an automation tool that allows users to create, manage, and share AI agents using the capabilities of Gemini 3. Previously known as Workspace Flows, this tool operates on an “if this, then that” model, integrating seamlessly with various Google apps like Gmail, Chat, and Drive, as well as third-party platforms such as Asana and Salesforce. Users can set up agents quickly without needing coding skills, automating tasks ranging from simple actions to more complex workflows.
The interface includes a shortcut for easy access and three main tabs: Discover, My agents, and Activity. Agents utilize Gemini’s reasoning and context understanding to perform tasks such as sentiment analysis and content generation. For example, you can create an agent that labels emails containing questions and notifies you in Chat. This tool goes beyond traditional automation by extracting relevant details from emails and attachments, making it adaptable to various scenarios.
Workspace Studio aims to empower all employees to create custom agents, reducing the barriers typically associated with coding. The tool has been in alpha testing for enterprise customers since Cloud Next 2025 and is now generally available for multiple Google Workspace tiers, including Business Starter and Enterprise Plus, as well as educational plans. This move reflects Google’s push to streamline workflows and enhance productivity through intelligent automation.
