Aluminium OS aims to be AI-centric, reflecting Google’s push to integrate its AI models, like Gemini, into various products. It’s designed to function across multiple devices, including PCs, laptops, tablets, and mini-PCs. Initial plans indicate a release in 2026, based on Android 17. Google has clarified that it won’t abandon Chrome OS right away; both operating systems will coexist for some time. While Aluminium is the current internal name, the final consumer branding could still lean toward Chrome OS.
