Coinbase, a major player in the crypto industry, manages trading and custody for over 120 million users across more than 100 countries. The platform handles more than $500 billion in assets and processes close to $300 billion in trading volume each quarter. With such scale, reliability is essential; even minor disruptions can lead to significant financial and regulatory consequences. Before adopting Resolve AI, Coinbase's engineers faced challenges during incidents, spending too much time piecing together information from various tools to understand system changes and whether alerts were legitimate.
Resolve AI has transformed Coinbase's incident response and daily operations by providing instant, accurate context. The AI automatically joins incident channels, investigates across Datadog, and correlates custom events to quickly determine what changed in the system. Engineers now interact with Resolve AI via Slack, obtaining real-time insights into service health and changes without sifting through multiple dashboards. This has led to a 72% reduction in investigation time, with engineers reaching likely root causes in under 10 minutes during critical incidents.
The integration of Resolve AI has made it easier for engineers to check SLO health, validate changes, and distinguish between real issues and scheduled load tests. Over 100 engineers use the AI for more than 250 weekly sessions, which helps streamline production decisions and reduce false alerts. As a result, Coinbase can deploy updates with greater confidence, minimizing the risk of disruptions in trading, funding, and withdrawals. With Resolve AI embedded into on-call rotations, Coinbase is reinforcing reliability while maintaining operational speed as it scales its global platform.
