Mustafa Suleyman, the company's AI chief, announced the formation of the MAI Superintelligence Team, aimed at creating models that surpass human capabilities. Suleyman emphasized the importance of avoiding the portrayal of AI systems as sentient beings. He criticized the tendency to attribute human-like emotions or rights to AI chatbots, arguing that this can mislead users. While he acknowledged the collaboration with OpenAI, he made it clear that Microsoft's future vision involves a more autonomous approach to AI development, with a strong emphasis on responsible usage and ethical considerations.
