The onboarding process starts on the Datadog Azure Integrations page, where users connect their Azure account. Datadog then automates key steps: creating app registrations, assigning permissions, and setting up log forwarding. Users maintain control over their monitoring setup by selecting specific subscriptions, services, and resources to monitor, along with applying filters to collect only the necessary metrics and logs. This approach minimizes manual input and reduces the chances of errors. Datadog also provides three setup options to cater to different organizational needs. The Quickstart option uses Azure CLI for a fast, command-based integration. Teams that prefer infrastructure as code can opt for a Terraform template that reflects their onboarding choices. Alternatively, organizations with existing Azure app registrations can connect those directly while still benefiting from Datadog’s guided process.
