Since its inception by Upbound in 2018 and its entry into the CNCF ecosystem as a Sandbox project in 2020, Crossplane has become a key player in platform engineering. The project boasts over 3,000 contributors from more than 450 organizations, placing it in the top 10% of CNCF projects for contributor engagement.
