The average star rating for these AI ads was 3.4, compared to just 2.3 for the broader database of 123,000 ads. This data suggests that AI ads, created by skilled professionals rather than amateurs, can meet and even exceed established standards of ad effectiveness.
Interestingly, the study found that a significant portion of respondents couldn't distinguish AI ads from traditional ones. About 32% thought the ads looked like typical professionally produced content, while 33% believed they had a distinctive style. Notably, ads recognized as AI scored better on average, indicating that AI may enhance emotional impact rather than detract from it. For instance, Coke's 2025 film received a maximum rating of 5.9 stars, with 71% of viewers reporting feelings of happiness.
