If you do, here's more
Google’s Gemini AI now features a “Deep Research” capability that pulls information from your Gmail, Drive, and Chat to create detailed research reports. This functionality addresses user requests for a more comprehensive approach beyond simple question-answering. When activated, Gemini develops a multi-step research plan, conducts web searches, and compiles the findings into a report. Users can request modifications or export the final product to Google Docs or even generate an AI-created podcast.
The integration with Google Workspace allows for tailored insights. For instance, you could launch a market analysis by having Gemini examine brainstorming documents, relevant email threads, and project plans. Alternatively, it can generate competitor reports by merging public data with your internal strategies and discussions. Users select from four options for data sources: regular Google Search, Gmail, Drive, and Chat, making the process more contextually aware.
Currently, this feature is only available on desktop, but Google plans to roll it out to mobile devices shortly. The move signals a significant shift in how AI can assist with research, making it easier for users to gather and synthesize information from various personal and professional sources.
