Netflix is launching a live voting feature that allows viewers to interact with content during its livestreamed talent show, “Star Search,” premiering on January 20, 2026. Users can vote through a multiple-choice menu or rate performances on a five-star scale, using either their TV remote or the Netflix app. The voting will be available globally, but viewers must participate in real time; once the voting window closes, late viewers won't be able to cast their votes. The company began testing this feature in August 2025 with “Dinner Time Live with David Chang.” Elizabeth Stone, Netflix's CTO, stated that this development is just the beginning of making content more interactive across various devices. With this move, Netflix aims to enhance viewer engagement, allowing subscribers to feel like they influence the show as it unfolds.
