Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Z TriFold, a foldable smartphone featuring a unique design with two hinges. This setup allows for a 10-inch inner display that opens like a book, paired with a 6.5-inch outer display. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, equipped with 16GB of RAM, and houses a substantial 5,600 mAh battery. The camera system includes a 200MP main lens, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, a 10MP telephoto lens, and two 10MP selfie cameras for both displays. The phone also offers side-mounted fingerprint recognition, IP48 dust and water resistance, and runs on Android 16. It will only be available in a single color, “Crafted Black.” In terms of dimensions, the TriFold is impressively thin, measuring 3.9mm at the display section when unfolded. The central section is slightly thicker at 4.2mm, while the portion with the fingerprint sensor measures 4.0mm. When folded, it reaches a thickness of 12.9mm, which is noticeably slimmer than the Galaxy Z Fold 5. However, the weight is a consideration; the TriFold weighs 309 grams, significantly heavier than its predecessor at 215 grams. The launch is set for December 12 in Korea, with additional releases planned for regions like China, Taiwan, Singapore, and the UAE. The US market will see the Galaxy Z TriFold in Q1 2026, likely between January and March. While pricing hasn't been officially confirmed, estimates put it between $2,500 and $3,000, based on earlier reports.
