If you do, here's more
Google is reintroducing JPEG XL support in Chromium after previously removing it. A developer has submitted code that adds animation capabilities, which were absent in earlier versions. While this new implementation has passed most of Chrome's automated tests, it remains under review and isnβt yet accessible to users.
JPEG XL is designed to replace traditional JPEG files, offering significant file size reduction without compromising image quality. This can improve website loading times and decrease data usage. Although development has resumed after a long hiatus, Google hasnβt set a timeline for when users can expect JPEG XL support in Chrome.
