Figma has rolled out Make Connectors, a feature aimed at enhancing collaboration by integrating external tools directly into Figma Make. Through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), teams can now import documents and tasks from services like Notion, Asana, Linear, GitHub, and Atlassian products such as Jira and Confluence. This integration allows users to keep their data synchronized in real time, facilitating a smoother workflow across design, product, and engineering teams. Key functions of Make Connectors include the ability to import content into Figma Make chats and refresh data with a single action. Users have the option for two-way interaction, meaning they can create or modify records in external applications. Access control is granular; write tools are disabled by default, requiring user approval for each connector run unless changed in the settings. Teams can also disable specific tools within connectors to improve performance during AI processing. To set up a connector, users navigate to Add context → Add connector in Figma Make and complete OAuth authorization. The feature is available on Figma's paid plans and necessitates file edit access. Figma is also gathering feedback on which new integrations users want to see next. This strategic enhancement positions Figma as a more robust tool for collaborative work, reducing the need to switch between multiple applications.
