The article presents a new framework for defining Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) by equating it to the cognitive capabilities of a well-educated adult. Utilizing the Cattell-Horn-Carroll theory, the authors identify ten core cognitive domains and assess current AI systems, revealing significant gaps in their cognitive abilities, particularly in long-term memory, while quantifying progress through AGI scores.
