Full summary

Claude just released two new tools in beta: Dashboards and Motion. Dashboards connect to your data platforms—BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, and others—so you can ask questions in plain English and get live, updating visualizations instead of filing tickets or writing SQL. Each chart shows the query behind it, so you can see what Claude actually pulled. Motion does the same thing for animations: you describe what you want explained (a quarterly report, a product walkthrough, pricing comparison) and Claude builds it as editable code you can tweak or download as an MP4. The key difference from typical AI video tools is that Motion doesn't generate footage or fake people—it animates your actual text, charts, and images, keeping everything under your control. The company also moved three tools out of beta: Docs, Slides, and Design are now available on every plan, including free. People have already created 45 million of these artifacts. They've added real team collaboration features—your whole team can edit the same doc or deck simultaneously, and you can share with people outside your organization if your admin allows it. Exports actually look like what you built (PowerPoint, PDF, and Google Slides formats all keep formatting). You can even edit these on your phone. Enterprise customers get more control: admins can choose which artifact templates are available and set up customer-managed encryption keys. One wrinkle: Claude Design is consolidating. It started as a separate site at claude.ai/design but now works inside regular Claude conversations so it can use your context and files. The standalone version shuts down December 14, so if you have design systems or projects there, you need to migrate them. The migration tool is straightforward—one click brings over every design system in your organization. Chats and comments saved in the standalone version won't transfer, though, so grab those before the cutoff.
