Apple dropped its first foldable phone Wednesday—the iPhone Duo, starting at $1,999. The company's been sitting on the sidelines while Samsung, Google, and Huawei have already shipped folding phones for years. This was the main event of a nearly 80-minute presentation at Apple's Cupertino headquarters, though it came near the end of the show.
The event packed in more than just the foldable. Apple rolled out the iPhone 18 Pro, a fifth-generation AirPods, and two updated Apple Watch models. These weren't small tweaks either—each product line got meaningful upgrades worth covering separately.
AI stayed front and center. Apple spent significant time on improvements to Siri, its voice assistant, building on features the company first showed off at its developer conference back in June. The company's betting that smarter AI features across devices will justify the refresh cycle.
