Between late May and the end of July 2026, PBS’s Washington Week with The Atlantic ran a string of full-length broadcasts each Friday evening. Starting May 29 at 9:12 p.m. EDT, the show aired weekly on June 5 (9:35 p.m.), June 12 (8:58 p.m.), June 19 (9:20 p.m.), June 26 (8:37 p.m.), July 3 (8:30 p.m.), July 10 (9:15 p.m.), July 17 (9:56 p.m.), July 24 (8:30 p.m.) and July 31 (9:52 p.m.). Most episodes carried the standard news-discussion format, featuring host and rotating guests from The Atlantic and other outlets. Two editions zeroed in on America’s 250th anniversary. On June 12 and again on July 3, Jeffrey Goldberg led a debate on the founders’ principles, our democratic health and what lies ahead. He sat down with The Atlantic’s Tim Alberta, Idrees Kahloon and Ashley Parker; Stephen Hayes of The Dispatch; Peter Baker of The New York Times; and Susan Glasser of The New Yorker. They revisited the Declaration of Independence, weighed how far the country has strayed and sketched scenarios for the next quarter-millennium. All other weeks stuck to a more general mix of politics and policy. Beyond the anniversary specials, episodes offered context on congressional maneuvering, Supreme Court decisions and campaign developments. Despite the rotating airtimes between 8:30 and 9:56 p.m., the lineup stayed consistent: in-depth analysis with journalists who know Washington from multiple angles.
